A Little Bit About Foundations
Foundations is a Consumer Operated Service that offers it's services in Canton, Massillon, and Alliance, Ohio. It serves peers in Stark County for it's classes and support groups. It's Respite program serves peers in 10 counties through the 507 collaborative. As a consumer operated service it is operated by a 60% consumer operated Board of Directors. Foundations is operated by individuals with lived life experience in either mental health or substance use disorders. All of the services offered at Foundations are free of charge and the structure is planned with both physical safety and emotional safety in mind. Foundations is an independent stand alone organization. Simply meaning that although we do enjoy working with other organizations such as clinical organizations we are not a part of another organization. Foundations educates, empowers, and motivates, the Stark County Community with a staff of peer supporters that have been trained in the Ohio Peer Supporter Integrated Training Model. The staff at Foundations has over 60 years combined experience working in the social service field and more than 125 years of combined recovery.
